Knit in Public

This upcoming Saturday, June 11th, is World Wide Knit in Public day. How do I plan on celebrating? By doing my first ever yarn bombing!!! I'm not entirely sure what I want to do or how I want to do it but I'm super excited about it and figured I would include you on my awesome journey of yarn discovery.

The first step I'm taking is making something that I can quickly attach to something. I've decided on monsters. I'll start creating them tomorrow and I'll be sharing my progress along the way. I hope you're all looking forward to Saturday as much as I am.

Success

Drop Dead Gore-geous was a HUGE hit!! Everyone did such a great job. My models were absolutely fabulous and kicked some serious butt rocking my styles and critters. I have videos that I'll be uploading on my youtube channel soon.

In the mean time I wanted to share an adorable little girl and her custom Cowgirl Coyote. Requested by her lovely mom for her birthday, this coyote has removable boots and hat and beautiful turquoise button eyes.

Exciting Things

Several exciting things have been happening. This weekend My Creepy Critters will be release the first ever line of My Creepy Critters Wearables for people.

This line of fun accessories based on what the critters wear will be previewed at the Drop Dead Gore-geous fashion show to benefit the Turning Point Center for Youth and Family Development that's being held this Sunday, May 15th in Fort Collins, Colorado. More information can be found on the Drop Dead Gore-geous facebook fan page.

Time off

It's been a little bit since I've made a new critter. The reason? Scarves. It's that time of year when I set down the critters for a month to make some scarves with friends and sell them at a boutique. It seems like a strange thing for me to do considering they aren't creepy in any way but it's always good to do something nice and different. When the scarves get sold all the profit from them gets donated to the Battered Woman's Shelter to buy food for women and children affected by abuse for the holiday season. This year we created 32 scarves between 4 of us.

New additions

You may have noticed some new additions to my site! They're my new pals. Go look at them and show them some love.

I also wanted to mention that I do custom creepy critters too. If you have a baby on the way (yours or a friend's ;) ) then drop me a line. I can make a baby safe version of any of my critters with no button eyes and even less angry if you'd like. Color changes are also welcome. All of this can be done for just a little extra, just send me a message!
